Deglur is a town in Nanded district, in the far southeast of Maharashtra, close to the borders with Telangana and Karnataka. On a map it looks like many Deccan market towns. A dense, irregular core of narrow lanes sits at the centre, looser residential streets surround it, and a web of roads leads out to the villages around it. Farmland presses right up to the built edge.
The street layout has grown over time instead of being planned all at once. Lanes bend, split and rejoin, and the larger roads are the only long straight lines.
