Te mapa
Dimtu is a town in the South Ethiopia Regional State, in the green, rolling highlands of the country's south. From above, it reads as a modest cluster of streets gathered along a main road. Short side streets branch off into residential areas, and beyond them the land opens into a patchwork of small farms and homesteads.
The terrain is gently hilly, so roads curve with the land rather than following straight lines. Footpaths and farm tracks link scattered compounds to the town. Trees and gardens break up the landscape into small, irregular parcels. It is a typical pattern for densely farmed southern Ethiopia, where rural settlement is spread widely across the hills.
A Dimtu map poster shows a small town precisely: the central road, the loose grid around it and the finely divided farmland on every side. It is a quiet subject, but a map is a good way to honour a place that matters to the people who come from it.
A main road passes through the town and gathers shops and services. It is the clearest line on the map and anchors the rest of the layout.
Short streets and tracks lead off the main road into residential areas, forming a loose, practical network rather than a formal grid.
Small fields, gardens and homesteads cover the rolling land around the town. Winding footpaths and tracks connect them.
