Te mapa
Sebeta lies in the Oromia region just beyond the southwestern outskirts of Addis Ababa, high on the Ethiopian plateau. On a map it reads as a corridor town. Its densest streets gather along the main highway leading southwest out of the capital, and newer neighbourhoods spread outward from that spine across the gently rolling upland.
Its closeness to Addis Ababa shapes much of the plan. Industrial sites, housing and small markets fill the ground between the old town centre and the capital's growing edge, so the boundary between the two is increasingly hard to see from above. Farther out, open fields and eucalyptus stands break the street pattern into looser, irregular pieces.
Sebeta is widely known in Ethiopia for its long-established school for blind children, one of the oldest institutions of its kind in the country. A Sebeta map poster shows a place in transition: part market town, part suburb, with a highway at its heart and highland country still visible around its edges.
The main road southwest from Addis Ababa runs straight through town, and most of the street network branches off it, which gives the map a strong linear backbone.
To the northeast, Sebeta's streets meet the expanding outskirts of Addis Ababa, a seam of mixed industry and new housing on the plateau.
Away from the centre, lanes loosen into irregular paths between fields and tree stands, a softer texture that contrasts with the denser core.

Koteā ko Sebeta
This is a map for people with roots in Sebeta or the wider Oromia highlands, and for those who have left the Addis Ababa area and want a reminder of it. It shows the place honestly, as a working town at the edge of a capital.
Personalise the title and subtitle, perhaps with a family name or the year you left, and keep or change the coordinates line. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand to suit your wall.
