Te mapa
Dreux lies in the Eure-et-Loir department, on the Blaise river close to its confluence with the Eure. The old town sits in the valley, and on a map its compact centre is easy to pick out: narrow streets gathered around the market area, with the river channels running along its edge.
Above the town rises a hill once occupied by a castle, now home to the Royal Chapel of Saint-Louis, the burial place of the Orléans family. The centre is also known for its sixteenth-century belfry, one of the notable civic towers of the region. Newer districts spread outward on the plateau and along the main roads.
A Dreux map poster shows how the town is shaped by its valley: the river line, the dense historic core, the green hill with its chapel grounds and the broader, more regular neighbourhoods beyond. It is a layered composition with a clear sense of place.
The Blaise runs through the lower town in narrow channels, its line marking the edge of the historic centre and shaping the old streets.
The hill above the town, with the Royal Chapel of Saint-Louis and its grounds, appears as an open area rising behind the dense centre.
The oldest streets form a compact, irregular web around the market and the belfry, standing out against the wider suburban blocks.
