Duobao Map Poster & Print
Duobao is a town in central Hubei, on the Jianghan Plain, the broad, low-lying farmland formed by the Yangtze and Han rivers. The land is almost perfectly flat. From above, water shapes nearly everything: channels, ditches, fish ponds and embankments divide the countryside into a fine pattern of plots, and the town sits as a compact cluster within it.
The streets of the town are fairly regular, with a main road through the centre and blocks packed on either side. Beyond the edge, the pattern changes to rectangles of fields and ponds, lined with straight drainage channels. Embankments, built to manage the water in this flood-prone plain, draw long firm lines across the landscape.
