Te mapa
Zhicheng is a town in Yidu, a county-level city administered by Yichang in western Hubei. It sits on the south bank of the Yangtze where the river has left the Three Gorges behind and begins to widen towards the Jianghan Plain. On a map the broad river dominates the frame, its gentle curves setting the direction of the streets along the bank.
The town is best known for the Zhicheng Yangtze River Bridge, opened in the early 1970s, which carries the railway from Jiaozuo in Henan to Liuzhou in Guangxi across the river. Its long straight span is the strongest man-made line on the map, linking Zhicheng with Zhijiang on the northern bank.
Away from the river the town gives way to hills, farmland and the valleys of smaller tributaries, with newer roads and expressways crossing the landscape. A Zhicheng map poster captures a quieter stretch of the Yangtze, where industry, rail and river traffic meet a smaller town rather than a major city.
The river runs broad along the northern edge of the town, the largest shape on the poster and the element that gives the whole composition its direction and scale.
The Zhicheng Yangtze River Bridge, opened in the early 1970s, crosses the river in a single long line and links the town with Zhijiang on the northern bank.
The built-up area follows the bank in a long band, with streets running parallel to the river and shorter lanes leading down towards the water.

Koteā ko Zhicheng
Zhicheng is a hometown for many who left for Wuhan, the coast or abroad, and the Yangtze runs through their memories of it. A map of the town and its bridge is a personal, understated piece that works equally well in a new apartment or as a family gift.
The title, subtitle and coordinates can all be changed, so you can add the town's name as you prefer, a year or a family name. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, as a $9 HD download or a printed poster.
