Te mapa
Edfu lies on the west bank of the Nile in Aswan governorate, roughly midway between Luxor and Aswan. From above, the Nile valley is shown at its simplest: the river, a narrow band of irrigated farmland on each side, and then desert. The town is a dense cluster of streets on the western bank, with canals and field boundaries around it.
Edfu is known for the Temple of Horus, built in the Ptolemaic period and widely regarded as the best-preserved temple in Egypt. Its long, rectangular enclosure sits among the streets of the modern town and stands out clearly on the map. Nile cruise boats between Luxor and Aswan regularly stop here, and a bridge links the town to the east bank.
An Edfu map poster turns this geography into strong graphic shapes. The river is a wide ribbon, the farmland is finely divided, and the dense town grid holds the clean outline of the temple. The desert is almost blank. It is a map where every line has a reason, and where a very old monument and an ordinary town sit side by side.
The great Ptolemaic temple has a long rectangular enclosure within the town. On the map it is a clean, geometric block surrounded by the irregular streets of modern Edfu.
The river runs past the town as a broad, steady band. A bridge crosses to the east bank, and cruise boats stop here on their way between Luxor and Aswan.
A narrow strip of fields and canals follows the river and then ends abruptly at the desert. On the poster that edge is sharp and dramatic.

Koteā ko Edfu
Travellers who stopped at Edfu on a Nile journey and people from the town both remember its particular setting: the temple, the river and the edge of the desert. A map holds all three in one image.
Add a title and subtitle such as the name of your cruise, a date or a phrase, and adjust the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand works especially well here.
