Seen from above, Elizabethtown is a crossroads town. Interstate 65 runs along its eastern side, and the Western Kentucky and Blue Grass parkways both start nearby, so long highway curves frame a much smaller street pattern. At the centre sits the old courthouse square. From there, older streets spread out into newer subdivisions and commercial strips.
As the seat of Hardin County, the town has been a regional centre since the late eighteenth century. Thomas Lincoln, Abraham Lincoln's father, lived and worked here before the family moved to the farm near Hodgenville where the future president was born. Fort Knox lies to the north, and the town's growth has long been tied to the post and to the interstate corridor.
An Elizabethtown map poster shows these layers together: a tight historic core, looping residential streets and the broad sweep of highway interchanges. Freeman Lake adds an irregular patch of water on the north side. The town's name also reached a wider audience through a 2005 film, but on paper it is the road network that gives the place its character.
The historic centre is organised around the Hardin County courthouse. It forms a small, regular block pattern that stands out clearly against the looser suburban streets around it.
Interstate 65 and the starts of two Kentucky parkways surround the town with long, smooth curves and cloverleaf shapes. These are the boldest lines on the map.
On the north side, Freeman Lake and its surrounding park form a quiet, irregular body of water. It softens the grid and gives the composition a clear focal point.

Koteā ko Elizabethtown
For people who grew up in Hardin County, were stationed at Fort Knox or passed through on I-65 and stayed, this map is a reminder of home. The simple layout reads well at any size, from a small desk print to a large wall piece.
You can set your own title and subtitle, add the coordinates line and choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. A move-in date or a family name fits neatly under the town's outline.
