Elmina is a planned township in Selangor, northwest of Shah Alam, in the growth corridor between the Klang Valley's older cities and the more open land to the north. The map shows recent urban design at work. Gently curving roads, neighbourhood clusters divided by green strips and larger open spaces break up the housing. At the edges, forest and undeveloped land still frame the built area.
The township takes its name from the Elmina estate, plantation land that has been turned into residential precincts, a central park and landscaped waterways in recent years. Much of its identity rests on outdoor space, with walking and cycling routes linking the neighbourhoods. Its roads connect quickly to the expressways serving Kuala Lumpur and Shah Alam.

Housing is grouped into distinct neighbourhoods, each with its own curving internal roads and separated from the next by green buffers and main avenues.
Forest edges
Wooded and undeveloped land surrounds parts of the township, so toward the edges of the sheet the drawing fades from fine street detail into open space.
