Te mapa
Ensenada lies on the Río de la Plata right next to La Plata, in Buenos Aires Province. The town has a regular grid of streets, but its waterfront is complicated: port basins, canals, the Río Santiago and low islands make up a detailed coastline. On a map, the neat streets break up into docks and wetlands toward the east.
The port has been important here since colonial times, and Fuerte Barragán, a small fort from that period, still stands. Today the waterfront is home to a large oil refinery and the Río Santiago shipyard, among Argentina's main industrial sites, while Isla Santiago and the river marshes are quieter.
An Ensenada map poster shows a working port town in detail: the straight blocks of the town, industrial basins and canals, and the ragged edge where the land dissolves into the river. The water gives the print plenty of empty space to balance the dense streets.
Harbour basins, channels and the Río Santiago cut into the shoreline, creating a complex waterfront that stands out sharply on the map.
The low island across the channel, with its marshes and waterways, stretches toward the open Río de la Plata along the port.
Fuerte Barragán, a small fort from the colonial era, recalls how long Ensenada has been a gateway on the river.

Koteā ko Ensenada
Ensenada has a strong identity as a port, shaped by ships, the refinery and the river. Its map suits people who worked there, grew up by the docks or live in the La Plata area. The water gives it real graphic character.
