Espiye Map Poster & Print

Espiye is a town in Giresun Province, on Turkey's eastern Black Sea coast. From above it is a narrow settlement stretched along the shoreline. The coastal highway and the sea form its long northern edge, and green hills rise steeply behind it. Streets climb inland from the coast in short, winding lines.

The Giresun region is known for hazelnuts, and the slopes around Espiye are covered with orchards that reach well into the hills. This is typical of the eastern Black Sea: towns hemmed in against the water by steep, green terrain, with small valleys and streams running down to the coast.

An Espiye map poster shows the linear shape of a coastal town. The shoreline and the coast road make long parallel lines, the town fills the narrow band between sea and slope, and hill roads wind upward from it. The coastline's clear edge gives the print a calm, simple structure.

01

Coastal highway

The main Black Sea coast road runs along the shore. On the map it is a strong line, roughly parallel to the water's edge.

02

Narrow shore strip

The town fills a thin band of flatter land between the sea and the hills, so its streets are packed into an elongated shape.

03

Hill roads

Winding roads climb from the coast into orchard-covered slopes and valleys, marking the edge of the map with loose, curving lines.
