Te mapa
Essaouira sits on Morocco's Atlantic coast, on a low promontory with the ocean to the west and a long curving beach to the south. From above, the walled medina stands out immediately. Its main streets are straighter and more regular than those of most Moroccan medinas, while narrow lanes fill the blocks between them. The fishing port and its breakwaters extend into the sea at the southern end.
The town, formerly known as Mogador, was laid out in the second half of the eighteenth century for Sultan Mohammed ben Abdallah. The plan was drawn with the help of a French engineer, Théodore Cornut, which explains its unusual regularity. The medina was inscribed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2001. Offshore, the Mogador islands shelter the bay.
An Essaouira map poster captures a coastal fortress town where planned geometry meets organic lanes and open ocean. The ramparts and the harbour give strong edges, and the islands add small, distinct shapes in the water. It is a composition full of character, and it reflects the town's windy, maritime personality.

Fortifications facing the Atlantic trace the western edge of the old town, where the land meets the ocean.
The fishing harbour extends south into the bay, with the Mogador islands visible offshore as small, separate forms.

Koteā ko Essaouira
Essaouira stays with people: a windy winter on the beach, music in the medina, a morning at the fishing port. A map of the town keeps that atmosphere nearby and makes a thoughtful gift after a trip together.
Add your own title and subtitle, perhaps a riad name or travel dates, and choose how the coordinates appear. Then select Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Sand and Blueprint both suit the Atlantic coast.
