Te mapa
Formosa lies in Goiás, a short drive northeast of Brasília, on the high central plateau covered by cerrado savanna. It predates the federal capital and has grown steadily alongside it. From above, the town shows a fairly regular grid of streets, extended by newer neighbourhoods along the highway that connects it to the Federal District and the northeast.
The municipality is known for its natural features, above all the Salto do Itiquira, one of the tallest waterfalls in Brazil, which drops from the edge of the plateau some distance from town. Lagoons, streams and escarpments mark the surrounding countryside, while the urban area remains compact, bordered by open plateau and farmland.
A Formosa map poster focuses on the town's clean street pattern and the long lines of the roads crossing the plateau. It suits people who live in Formosa or commute to Brasília, and those who know the region through weekend trips to the waterfalls and the trails of the surrounding hills.
The centre of Formosa is organised into regular blocks, a clear and orderly pattern that prints crisply and stands out against the open plateau around it.
The highway toward the Federal District runs through the town, forming a strong line that links Formosa to the capital and the wider region.
Beyond the streets lies open cerrado, and on the plateau's edge the Itiquira waterfall draws visitors, part of a landscape shaped by escarpments and streams.

Koteā ko Formosa
Formosa sits close enough to Brasília to share its rhythm but keeps its own identity as an older town of the plateau. A map of its streets is a fitting keepsake for residents, commuters and anyone with memories of the cerrado.
