Te mapa
Fortuna Foothills is a census-designated place in Yuma County, Arizona, a few miles east of the city of Yuma. It lies in the Sonoran Desert, where the land rises from the Gila and Colorado river valleys toward the Gila Mountains. On a map, the community forms a band of residential streets along Interstate 8, with the steep, bare outline of the mountains to the east.
The area is popular with winter visitors, and many of them come from colder parts of the United States and Canada to spend the season. This shows on the map in the many manufactured-home parks and RV resorts, with their tight, regular rows of lots. Between them lie broad desert parcels, washes and roads running in straight lines across the flat land.
A Fortuna Foothills map poster captures the geometry of a desert community: the interstate, the grid of streets and parks, the dry washes and the sharp edge where the mountains begin. In black and white, the contrast between orderly lots and rugged terrain gives the poster a clean, graphic look.
Rugged desert mountains rise just east of the community, their steep terrain forming a sharp natural boundary on the map.
The interstate runs along the community on its way between Yuma and Phoenix, giving the poster a strong horizontal line.
RV resorts and manufactured-home parks appear as dense, orderly rows of small lots, a characteristic feature of the area.

Koteā ko Fortuna Foothills
Fortuna Foothills is a second home for many winter visitors, and the map is a fine way to remember warm months in the desert. It makes a practical gift for snowbirds, retirees and families who spend each winter near Yuma.
You can change the title and subtitle, perhaps adding the name of your park or the years you visited, and edit the coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand; Sand suits the desert well.
