Te mapa
Rosarito lies on the Pacific coast of Baja California, just south of Tijuana. The town is long and narrow, squeezed between the ocean and the hills rising to the east. From above, the coastline forms a straight western edge, while the main roads, including the scenic toll highway and the free road, run parallel to the sea.
Tourism shaped much of the town's growth. The Rosarito Beach Hotel, opened in the 1920s, became a well-known destination during the Prohibition era. Later, Baja Studios was built just south of town for the filming of Titanic, and its large water tanks still appear clearly on satellite and map views.
A Rosarito map poster shows the town as a long ribbon of streets following the shore. Short streets run inland from the beach towards the hills, and the settlement thins out quickly as the ground rises. The result is a clean, elongated composition with the Pacific filling one side of the frame.
A long, nearly straight coastline defines the western edge, with beaches running the full length of the town.
The toll highway and free road run parallel to the sea, forming strong north-south lines through the entire map.
Streets climb inland towards the hills, where the grid breaks into winding roads and more open land.
