Te mapa
Fūlād Shahr, meaning steel city, was built from the 1970s to house workers of the Isfahan Steel Company, whose plant was established with Soviet assistance. It lies in Lenjan County, southwest of Isfahan, on a dry plain near the Zayandeh Rud valley. From above, the town's planned origins are obvious: broad avenues, orderly districts and regular blocks of housing.
The layout divides the town into distinct neighbourhoods, each with its own grid of streets and open spaces, separated by wide main roads. Parks and tree-lined boulevards stand out against the surrounding arid land. A Fūlād Shahr map poster captures the clarity of this design, a town drawn as a whole rather than grown over time.
Beyond the residential area, the large industrial complex of the steel plant and the farmland of the Zayandeh Rud valley fill out the wider landscape. Mountains rise to the south and west. The town remains closely tied to the steel industry, and its football club, Zob Ahan, takes its name from the company.
The town is divided into clearly defined neighbourhoods, each with its own internal grid, giving the map a balanced, almost diagrammatic structure unusual among Iranian towns.
Wide, straight avenues separate the districts and connect them to the centre, forming the strongest lines on the map and framing the housing blocks between them.
The town sits on a dry plain with mountains nearby. On the page, its ordered streets and green spaces contrast sharply with the open land around it.

Koteā ko Fūlād Shahr
Fūlād Shahr is home to generations of steelworkers and their families, and its planned layout makes an unusually clear, graphic print. It suits anyone who grew up here or who is interested in modern town planning in Iran.
Personalise the title and subtitle, adding the name in Persian, a district or a date, and edit the coordinates line. Five styles are available: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Blueprint suits the town's engineered design.
