Desert margin
To the northeast, the street network ends abruptly at open desert. This gives the poster a clean, empty edge that makes the city's outline unusually clear.

Te mapa
Kāshān sits on a long slope between the Karkas Mountains to the southwest and the flat expanse of the Dasht-e Kavir to the northeast. From above, the modern city stretches along this gradient, with straight avenues and newer districts around an older centre. Open desert begins where the last streets end.
People have lived here for thousands of years. Tepe Sialk, an archaeological mound on the city's southwestern edge, preserves some of the oldest settlements on the Iranian plateau. Water from the mountains made that possible, and the qanats and springs that fed Kāshān still shape how the city relates to its landscape.
In spring, mountain villages above the city, such as Qamsar, distil rosewater from damask roses, a tradition that draws visitors every year. A Kāshān map poster shows the city in its setting: a compact urban shape between rising ground and the pale expanse of the desert.
To the northeast, the street network ends abruptly at open desert. This gives the poster a clean, empty edge that makes the city's outline unusually clear.
The ancient mound on the southwestern outskirts appears as an open patch among the streets, a quiet marker of settlement going back several thousand years.
Roads climb from the city toward the Karkas foothills and the rose-growing villages beyond. Their lines lead the eye out of the frame.
