Te mapa
Giaginskaya is a stanitsa, a large Cossack village, in the Adygea Republic of southern Russia, north of Maykop. It is laid out on flat land beside the small Giaga River. Its map shows the typical plan of a Kuban stanitsa: long, straight, wide streets in a regular grid, with deep household plots behind each house, so the blocks are large and the street lines are widely spaced.
Stanitsas like Giaginskaya were founded as Cossack settlements in the nineteenth century and grew into farming towns in the surrounding agricultural plain. A railway passes through the settlement, and the fields around it are divided into large rectangular plots that continue the grid out into the countryside.
A Giaginskaya map poster brings out the geometry of the steppe village: a grid that feels almost drawn with a ruler, a river winding at its edge and fields stretching out in the same direction. The regular order has a calm, graphic quality, and it becomes personal when you find your own street among the long parallel lines.
Long, wide streets cross at right angles, forming large blocks with deep plots behind the houses, a clear and regular pattern.
The small Giaga winds along the edge of the settlement, the only curved line in an otherwise straight-lined plan.
Rectangular farm fields extend around the stanitsa, continuing the grid out into the flat agricultural plain.

Koteā ko Giaginskaya
Giaginskaya is home for families who have farmed the Kuban plain for generations and for many who have moved to cities. A map of its long streets is a clear and simple reminder of home.
Set the title, subtitle and coordinates line in Russian, Adyghe or English, with a name or a date. Classic black & white and Blueprint emphasise the grid, while Paper, Sand and Noir give the print a different mood.
