Te mapa
Kislovodsk lies in a basin in the northern foothills of the Caucasus, where the Olkhovka and Berezovka rivers meet. The name refers to the naturally carbonated, slightly sour water of the Narzan springs, which made the town one of the best-known resorts of the Russian Empire. On a map the town stretches along the valleys and climbs the slopes around them.
The Kurortny Park was laid out in the nineteenth century and extends from the centre up the Olkhovka valley into the hills. It is among the largest urban parks in Europe. Its winding paths form a delicate, loose network on the map, quite unlike the city streets below, and sanatoriums and villas line its edges.
Kislovodsk belongs to the Caucasian Mineral Waters resort region, and on clear days Mount Elbrus can be seen from the heights above town. A Kislovodsk map poster shows how the city fits into its valleys: dense streets on the lowest ground, the park rising around them, and hills closing in on every side.
A vast landscaped park spreads up the valley from the centre. Its looping paths and terraces form a fine, open pattern across the hillsides.
The Olkhovka and Berezovka rivers meet in the town, and the streets follow their valleys. This creates narrow, branching strips of houses and streets between the hills.
Near the centre, sanatoriums, colonnades and old villas line curving streets around the Narzan springs. It is a dense, distinctive area on the map.

Koteā ko Kislovodsk
Kislovodsk has welcomed generations of visitors for treatment, rest and mountain walks, and many people remember a stay here for years. A personalised title, a subtitle with the dates of a visit and the coordinates line make the poster a record of that time.
Paper and Sand suit the nineteenth-century resort, Classic black & white and Noir bring out the valleys, and Blueprint gives a clean graphic look. The $9 download includes six sizes as 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF files.
