Te mapa
Giridih lies on the Chota Nagpur plateau in Jharkhand. Its landscape is rolling ground broken by low hills, forest patches and small rivers such as the Usri. The town has an older centre of dense streets and markets, from which roads run out toward coalfields, villages and neighbouring towns. From above it looks compact but irregular, closely following the lie of the land.
The district is known for Parasnath, the highest hill in Jharkhand. Its summit, Shikharji, is one of the most important pilgrimage sites in Jainism. Giridih itself grew through coal mining and, historically, mica. The scientist Jagadish Chandra Bose spent his last years in the town, and his house is preserved as a memorial.
A Giridih map poster shows the dense core, roads branching across the plateau, and rivers and hills that interrupt the pattern. It is a detailed, slightly rough composition. In black and white it gives a clear sense of a town shaped by both terrain and resources.
The town sits on uneven ground of the Chota Nagpur plateau, where streets bend around low rises and small valleys instead of following a grid.
The Usri runs near the town and adds a winding line of water that breaks the dense street pattern and the open land beyond it.
From the compact centre, main roads branch out toward mining areas and villages, which gives the map a loose, star-like structure.
