Te mapa
Gödöllő lies among the Gödöllő Hills, north-east of Budapest, and its centre is the Royal Palace, one of Hungary's largest baroque palaces. It was built in the eighteenth century for Count Antal Grassalkovich and later became a residence of Emperor Franz Joseph and Queen Elisabeth, who loved the place. On the map, the palace and its park form a broad green block in the middle of town.
A HÉV suburban railway line and the main road run towards Budapest, and the town spreads out around them through wooded slopes. The large campus of the Hungarian University of Agriculture and Life Sciences occupies a spacious section of the map. In the early twentieth century, Gödöllő was also home to an influential art colony.
A Gödöllő map poster brings together the formal palace grounds, the linear transport corridors and the softer residential streets curving over the hills. In black and white, the park and forest edges frame the town in a way that feels calm and well proportioned.

The spacious grounds of the agricultural university cover a broad section of town, with buildings set among lawns and trees.
The suburban railway runs towards Budapest, giving the town a clear linear axis through its wooded hills.

Gödöllő matters to former students of the university, families who moved out of Budapest for the hills, and visitors who remember the palace. The map places all of these memories in one frame.
