Te mapa
Goussainville lies in the Val-d'Oise, north of Paris, directly beside Paris-Charles de Gaulle Airport. On a map the modern town spreads around a railway station, with housing estates and residential streets filling the space, while fields and airport land open up to the east. Runways and service roads appear at the edge of the frame.
The town is known for its Vieux-Pays, the original village, which was largely abandoned after the airport opened because of aircraft noise. Its church and a few houses remain. Goussainville is also where a Tupolev Tu-144 crashed during the 1973 Paris Air Show, an event that is still part of local memory.
A Goussainville map poster shows two towns in one: the dense, lived-in suburb around the station and the empty village set apart near the airport. With the runways nearby, it becomes an unusual composition about aviation and the way it reshaped a place.
The old village sits apart from the modern town, its small cluster of streets largely empty, a quiet part of the map close to the airport.
Charles de Gaulle's runways and taxiways begin just to the east, drawn as long straight strokes that contrast with the town's curving residential roads.
The modern town centres on its railway station, with estates and residential streets spreading out in a dense suburban pattern.

Koteā ko Goussainville
Goussainville appeals to residents, aviation enthusiasts and people who have heard the story of its old village. The combination of suburban streets and airport geometry makes a distinctive print that rarely looks like any other map.
