Te mapa
Greenacres, officially the City of Greenacres, lies in Palm Beach County, inland from Lake Worth Beach and the Atlantic coast. Its map shows the typical structure of South Florida: large square sections outlined by long, straight arterial roads, cut by drainage canals, and filled with subdivisions of curving streets, cul-de-sacs and small artificial lakes.
The town began as a planned residential development in the 1920s and grew steadily as Palm Beach County's suburbs expanded westward. The canals running through it belong to the drainage system that made this low, wet land suitable for building. Lake Worth Road, one of the main east–west routes, crosses the city.
A Greenacres map poster plays straight lines against curves. The arterial grid and the canals form a firm frame, and within each block the loops and bends of the subdivisions add softness. It is a clean, graphic picture of suburban Florida, with many small lakes adding scattered shapes.
Straight canals run through the city as part of the regional drainage system. They form long, sharp lines of water across the grid.
Wide roads divide the area into large square blocks. They give the poster a strong, regular frame that is easy to read.
Inside the blocks, curving streets wind around small retention lakes. They create a pattern of loops and irregular water shapes.
