Te mapa
Greenfield is the seat of Franklin County in western Massachusetts, in the Pioneer Valley. It lies near where the Deerfield and Green rivers meet, with the Connecticut River just to the east. On a map, water frames the town on several sides, and Main Street runs straight through the compact downtown.
Two major roads cross here: Interstate 91, running north-south through the valley, and Route 2, heading east-west along the Mohawk Trail. Their junction is marked by a well-known traffic rotary, a neat circle on the map. The residential streets have the loose grid typical of an older New England mill and market town.
East of downtown, a wooded ridge rises. Poet's Seat Tower, a small stone lookout, stands on it with views across the valley. A Greenfield map poster places this ridge, the rivers and the crossing of highways around a traditional Main Street, a classic small-town composition.
The Green and Deerfield rivers wind around the town, and the Connecticut flows nearby. Together they draw soft curves around the street grid.
Where I-91 meets Route 2, a traffic circle forms a perfect ring on the map, a small geometric landmark that locals recognise immediately.
A wooded ridge east of downtown holds Poet's Seat Tower. On the map it appears as a quiet band of open space beside the town.
