Te mapa
Hābra is a municipality in North 24 Parganas district, northeast of Kolkata, on the flat and well-watered plain of the Bengal delta. The railway toward Bangaon runs through the town and shapes much of its layout. Markets, main roads and denser housing gather near the station, and residential lanes spread out on either side of the tracks.
On a map, Hābra has the fine, irregular texture typical of delta towns. Narrow lanes twist between plots, and many small ponds and water tanks appear as scattered shapes among the houses. Beyond the built area, the lines thin into farmland, orchards and village roads. The ground stays flat and green in almost every direction.
A Hābra map poster is mostly for people with a personal bond to the town. Many commute to Kolkata by train, and many have family roots here that go back generations. The railway line crossing the frame is a good reminder of how closely life in Hābra is tied to the daily journey toward the city.
The line toward Bangaon cuts across the map as a clear, straight stroke, with the station area forming the busiest knot of streets.
Numerous small ponds dot the neighbourhoods, appearing as rounded and rectangular shapes that give the map a distinctive delta character.
Irregular narrow lanes fill the residential areas, creating a dense, organic pattern quite unlike a planned grid.
