Te mapa
Härnösand sits on the Gulf of Bothnia in central Sweden, and a large part of the town is on Härnön, an island separated from the mainland by narrow waterways. From above, the town is defined by water. Channels cut through the centre, bridges stitch the two halves together, and a fringe of bays and inlets runs along the coast in both directions.
The town centre is a compact grid near the sound, with the cathedral and the older administrative buildings of what has long been a bishop's seat and the county capital of Västernorrland. On a hill above town is Murberget, one of Sweden's large open-air museums. North of Härnösand the land rises into the High Coast, a UNESCO World Heritage landscape.
A Härnösand map poster works best with the full shoreline visible. At that scale the island, the sounds and the scattered coves read as one composition. The street pattern is tidy and understated, and the interest comes from the way land and sea interlock around it.
Much of the town lies on the island of Härnön. Its shoreline gives the map a strong, irregular outline on the eastern side.
Narrow waterways run through the centre, crossed by several bridges. They divide the grid into distinct pieces that are easy to read on paper.
North of town, the coastline turns into the steep, uplifted High Coast landscape. It is known for the way the land has risen since the last Ice Age.

Koteā ko Härnösand
Students, returning families and people who spent summers on the Bothnian coast often want a map of Härnösand in which the water carries as much weight as the streets. This one does.
You can title it with a street, a year or a name, and choose from five styles. Noir works especially well here, with white sounds on black land. The HD files come in six sizes, including 50×70 cm and 24×36″.
