Te mapa
Hasaki lies at the mouth of the Tone River, one of Japan's longest rivers, where it empties into the Pacific Ocean. The Chōshi peninsula sits on the opposite bank. On a map, the town is framed by two strong edges: the wide river to the south and a long, almost perfectly straight beach running northeast along the Kashima-nada coast.
The coast here is known for its surf, and Hasaki's beaches draw surfers from the Tokyo region throughout the year. The area also has a fishing tradition linked to the rich waters around Chōshi, one of Japan's major fishing ports. Along the shore, a line of wind turbines has become a familiar sight, and farmland and pine windbreaks stretch inland from the dunes.
A Hasaki map poster shows the meeting of river and ocean. The Tone makes a broad band across the frame, the coastline runs in a clean diagonal, and the town's streets fill the land between them in a loose pattern with fields and pine belts. The composition is simple and open, dominated by water and a long sandy edge.

A long, straight sandy coast runs northeast from the river mouth, popular with surfers and lined with dunes and pine belts.
Fields and windbreaks spread inland behind the dunes, giving the map an open, rural texture between the town's streets.

Koteā ko Hasaki
Hasaki means early morning surf sessions, long drives out from Tokyo and the view across the river to Chōshi. The map suits surfers, families from the coast and anyone who remembers the long beach.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a first surf trip date. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint and Noir suit the ocean especially well.
