Te mapa
Hazel Park sits just north of Detroit, and from above it looks like a textbook inner-ring suburb. Short residential blocks repeat in a steady rhythm. Eight Mile Road runs along the southern boundary, and Interstate 75 cuts diagonally through the town. Interstate 696 caps the north side. The streets fit together like a finely ruled sheet of paper, broken only where the highways slice through.
The town grew quickly in the twentieth century as housing for workers in the Detroit auto industry, which explains the small, even lots and the long, straight streets. For decades Hazel Park was also known for its harness-racing track. The track closed in 2018, but its large open parcel still stands out as a distinct shape among the dense residential blocks around it.
A Hazel Park map poster shows how much structure a small place can hold. The freeway interchanges draw sweeping curves against the orthogonal grid, and the neighbouring suburbs of Ferndale and Madison Heights continue the pattern beyond the frame. In black and white the composition feels almost architectural, a study in density, repetition and the few bold lines that interrupt it.
Interstate 75 and Interstate 696 cross the area as broad, sweeping bands, and their interchanges add loops and curves that contrast sharply with the rigid residential streets.
The southern boundary follows Eight Mile Road, one of the best-known lines in the Detroit area, where the suburban grid meets the city's own street pattern.
The site of the old harness-racing track is one of the few large open shapes in town, a clear break in otherwise closely packed blocks.

Koteā ko Hazel Park
People who grew up in Hazel Park, or who bought a first house on one of its compact streets, often want a record of that particular grid. The map captures a working suburb honestly, with its highways, its tight blocks and its place on the edge of Detroit.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, for example with a family name or a move-in date. Then choose one of five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The poster comes as an instant digital file or as a matte print, framed if you like.
