Te mapa
Lansing is the capital of Michigan, and its map is shaped by two rivers. The Grand River winds north through the city, and the Red Cedar joins it near downtown, having flowed in from the east through the campus of Michigan State University in neighbouring East Lansing. Their curves cut across an otherwise regular Midwestern street grid.
The Capitol stands at the head of a straight axis downtown, and the older neighbourhoods keep tidy blocks around it. Along both rivers a riverside trail and parks follow the water, creating green ribbons through the city. Beyond them, interstates and ring roads encircle the metropolitan area.
Lansing grew as an automobile city, closely linked to Oldsmobile and later to General Motors plants. A Lansing map poster sets that industrial and political history into one frame: a grid, two rivers, a capitol and a large university next door.
Michigan's longest river winds through the city in wide bends. It is the main natural curve on the map, with parkland along its banks.
The Red Cedar River arrives from East Lansing and the MSU campus and joins the Grand near downtown.
Downtown streets are laid out around the state Capitol, forming a clear, orderly centre that the rest of the grid extends from.

Koteā ko Lansing
Lansing brings together lawmakers, auto workers and several generations of Spartans. For MSU graduates in particular, a map that includes both Lansing and the campus is an easy way to keep those years close.
Add a class year, a team name or a street in the title, and choose Noir, Blueprint or another of five styles. Order a matte print with an optional wooden frame, or download HD files for $9.
