Te mapa
Ann Arbor is home to the University of Michigan, and the campus shapes much of the city's map. Central Campus sits next to downtown, organised around the Diag, a diagonal network of paths across the main quad. North Campus lies across the Huron River, which winds through the city in a series of parks and wooded bends.
Michigan Stadium, known as the Big House, is the largest stadium in the United States and sits south of Central Campus. Nichols Arboretum stretches along the river east of campus, and downtown areas such as Main Street and Kerrytown keep a compact grid of shops and restaurants. The Ann Arbor Art Fair fills these streets each summer.
An Ann Arbor map poster captures the relationship between town and university. The regular downtown grid, the diagonal paths of the Diag, the large oval of the stadium and the curving river with its parks create a rich but balanced composition. It is a map that many graduates recognise at a glance.
The diagonal paths crossing the central quad of the University of Michigan form a distinctive pattern of lines in the middle of the campus.
The Big House appears as a large oval south of campus, one of the most recognisable shapes on the map, surrounded by parking lots and sports fields.
The river curves through the northern part of the city, lined with parks and the arboretum, separating Central Campus from North Campus.
