Te mapa
Higashinozoe lies on the flat coastal plain of southern Hyōgo, in the belt of towns between Kakogawa and Akashi. The map shows the typical texture of this stretch of Japan: small, irregular residential blocks packed tightly together, narrow lanes, and occasional larger rectangles of schools, factories and fields.
The coast of the Seto Inland Sea is close by, and the area is shaped by the rail lines and main roads that run east to west along the shore toward Kobe and Himeji. Those long parallel routes give the poster its structure, with the finer street pattern filling the spaces between them.
A Higashinozoe map poster is a quiet study of everyday Japanese suburbia. There is no single dominant landmark, but the density of the streets, the traces of old farm plots and water channels, and the pull of the nearby coast make for a surprisingly rich image in black and white.

Small, irregular plots and narrow lanes create a dense, textured pattern typical of Japanese towns that grew from farmland into housing.
To the south, the land reaches the Seto Inland Sea, where the street grid gives way to reclaimed industrial shoreline and open water.
