Te mapa
Amagasaki occupies a low, flat stretch of land in the southeast corner of Hyōgo, directly between Osaka and Kobe. Two rivers define it: the Kanzaki River marks much of its eastern boundary with Osaka, and the Muko River runs along its western side. In between, the city is almost entirely built up, with a fine, close-grained street pattern crossed by several parallel railway lines.
The southern part of the city faces Osaka Bay and is lined with industrial land, canals and reclaimed ground. Parts of this area lie below sea level, protected by embankments and floodgates. Near the centre stands Amagasaki Castle, whose keep was rebuilt in 2018 close to the site of the original Edo-period castle.
An Amagasaki map poster captures the typical density of the corridor between Osaka and Kobe at a scale where individual lanes remain visible. The rivers frame the sides, the rail lines stack across the middle, and the angular harbour basins close the composition along the bottom, giving the print a clear, almost architectural structure.

Several railway lines linking Osaka and Kobe run through Amagasaki in parallel, cutting long straight strokes across the dense street grid.
The southern shore is a geometric edge of piers, canals and reclaimed land, drawn in hard angles that contrast with the fine residential streets.

Koteā ko Amagasaki
Amagasaki is often passed through by train, but for those who live there it is a complete city with its own shopping streets and neighbourhoods. The map gives that everyday place the same attention as its better-known neighbours.
