Te mapa
Moriguchi lies just northeast of central Osaka, on the low plain along the Yodo River. It is a small city by area and very densely built. On a map it appears as a fine, tight mesh of narrow streets and small blocks, divided by rail lines and a few wider roads, with the broad river and its embankments along the northwest edge.
The city grew from Moriguchi-juku, a post town on the Kyōkaidō, the old road between Osaka and Kyoto. In the twentieth century it became an industrial centre and was long the home of the electronics company Sanyo. Today it is largely a residential city with fast rail links to central Osaka.
A Moriguchi map poster shows the typical texture of a Japanese urban plain: a continuous fabric of small streets with almost no open space, cut by the diagonal lines of the Keihan and subway routes. The Yodo River, with its wide floodplain parks, gives the map a strong open band on one side.
The wide Yodo River and its riverside parks form the city's northwestern edge, providing a broad open band against the densely built streets.
The route of the Kyōkaidō, the historic road between Osaka and Kyoto, passes through the city, where Moriguchi-juku served as a post town.
Narrow residential streets and small blocks cover almost the entire city, creating a dense, intricate texture typical of the Osaka plain.

Koteā ko Moriguchi
Moriguchi is a city where many people live, commute and raise children, close to Osaka yet with its own identity. A detailed map of its streets turns an everyday neighbourhood into something worth framing.
You can personalise the title, the subtitle and the coordinates line, in Japanese or English. Five styles are available: Classic black and white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Noir shows the dense street network in fine detail.
