Te mapa
Kadoma lies just east of Osaka city on the flat Kawachi plain. The land was once marshy and dotted with lotus ponds, and today it is almost completely built up. On a map the town appears as a continuous mesh of small streets with barely a gap. Only dense Japanese suburbs produce a pattern this fine.
Rail lines give the map its structure. The Keihan Main Line crosses the town on its way between Osaka and Kyoto, and the Osaka Monorail reaches Kadoma from the north. Narrow rivers and drainage channels wind between the blocks, traces of the wetland that came before, and the Yodo River runs not far to the north.
Kadoma is best known as the home of Panasonic, whose headquarters and large corporate campus are here. The campus shows up as a broad block among the smaller streets. A Kadoma map poster shows a place most people only pass through on a train, and reveals how much structure lies inside that dense suburban fabric.
The Keihan Main Line cuts a clear diagonal through the town. Stations and the busiest streets line it, and it gives the dense grid a strong sense of direction.
Small rivers and channels curve through the neighbourhoods. They soften the grid and recall the marshland and lotus ponds that once covered the plain.
The large headquarters site is one of the few broad, open shapes on the map. It is easy to spot among the tightly packed residential blocks.

Koteā ko Kadoma
For people who live or work in Kadoma, the map shows the daily geography of commutes, shopping streets and waterways. It also suits anyone with ties to Panasonic, or anyone who likes the fine texture of Japanese towns.
The title, subtitle and coordinates line are yours to set, whether a name, a date or a short note. The map comes in five styles: Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Noir turns the dense street mesh into something close to lace.
