Himimachi Map Poster & Print

Himi lies on the western shore of Toyama Bay, at the base of the Noto Peninsula. From above, the city stretches along the coast with its port and fish market close to the water. The residential streets are packed onto a narrow coastal strip, and forested hills rise behind them to the west.

The city is famous for its fishing, especially the winter yellowtail known as Himi buri, which is caught with set nets in the bay. On clear days the Tateyama mountain range can be seen rising across the water, a view that is closely associated with this stretch of coast.

A Himimachi map poster is built around the meeting of sea and shore. Toyama Bay fills one side of the frame as an open field, the port adds breakwaters and basins along the edge, and the town's streets thin out as they climb into the hills. The result is a calm, coastal composition.

01

Toyama Bay shore

The coastline runs along the eastern side of the city, an edge of beaches, breakwaters and harbour structures that gives the poster its strongest line.

02

Fishing port

The port area, where the yellowtail catch is landed, shows as a cluster of basins and piers, the working heart of the city on the map.

03

Western hills

Wooded hills rise behind the coastal plain, and roads branch into narrow valleys. They leave quiet space on the map behind the dense shoreline.

He mapa ʻe maʻuhiga

Himi is a strong choice for people from Toyama, for travellers who remember the winter fish or the view of the mountains across the bay, and for anyone who loves Japanese harbour towns. The coastline gives the poster a clear, calm structure.

Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates line, and add a date such as a trip or anniversary. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. Blueprint suits the precise geometry of the harbour.
