Te mapa
Holbæk lies in north-western Zealand, at the inner end of Holbæk Fjord, an arm of the larger Isefjord. On a map the town wraps around the southern shore of the fjord, with the old centre and harbour close to the water and newer districts extending inland across gently rising ground.
The waterfront is the strongest feature of the map. The fjord's shoreline curves around the harbour basins and quays, and the calm, sheltered inlet opens eastward toward Isefjord. The town is also an important rail hub for the region, with lines fanning out toward Copenhagen, Kalundborg and Nykøbing Sjælland.
A Holbæk map poster captures the balance between water and town: the fjord pressing in from the east, the compact streets of the centre, and the railway and roads leading out across the Zealand countryside. It is a clear, well-proportioned view of a Danish market town shaped by its harbour.
Holbæk Fjord reaches right into the town, its curving shore and sheltered water forming the map's main natural shape and edge.
Quays and harbour basins along the waterfront add sharp, straight lines to the otherwise soft outline of the fjord shore.
Railway lines toward Copenhagen, Kalundborg and Nykøbing Sjælland meet at Holbæk, drawing long strokes across the town and into the surrounding countryside.

Koteā ko Holbæk
Holbæk speaks to people who grew up by the fjord, sailed from its harbour or commuted from its station toward Copenhagen. Its outline is instantly recognisable, with water and town fitting neatly together in one frame.
