Te mapa
Hsinchu sits on the north-western coast of Taiwan, facing the Taiwan Strait between two rivers, the Touqian to the north and the Keya running through the city. On a map, the old centre forms a compact knot of streets around the East Gate, Yingxi Gate, still surrounded by a stretch of moat. Newer districts spread toward the coast and east into the hills.
The city is often called the Windy City because of the strong seasonal winds off the strait. It is also home to the Hsinchu Science Park, one of the world's key semiconductor clusters and the base of TSMC. Two major universities, National Tsing Hua University and National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University, sit nearby.
A Hsinchu map poster shows the contrast between historic and modern: the tight lanes of the old town and the Chenghuang Temple area, broad avenues leading east to campuses and the science park, and the flat coastal edge with fishponds and wetlands. The rivers give the composition clear natural boundaries.
The surviving Yingxi Gate and the curving moat park around it mark the historic centre, where the densest, most irregular streets are found.
East of the centre, the Hsinchu Science Park and nearby university campuses appear as large planned zones with looping internal roads.
The Touqian and Keya rivers cross the plain toward the Taiwan Strait, drawing long, smooth curves through the city's grid.

Koteā ko Hsinchu
Hsinchu is where many people studied, started careers in engineering or grew up in a family with deep local roots. A map of it records that mix of old town and technology district, and makes a meaningful gift for graduates or colleagues.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, in English or Chinese, with a campus, a company year or a family date. Choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, then download 300 DPI files for $9 or order a printed poster.
