Banqiao Map Poster & Print
Banqiao is the most populous district of New Taipei City, lying just southwest of Taipei across the water. On a map it is shaped by the river: the Dahan River curves around much of its edge, separating it from neighbouring districts and from Taipei itself. Inside that boundary, the streets form a dense, irregular grid with busy main roads, rail corridors and compact residential blocks.
Banqiao is the seat of the New Taipei City government and a major transport hub: its station brings together high-speed rail, conventional trains and the metro. The district is also home to the Lin Family Mansion and Garden, one of the best preserved traditional gardens in Taiwan, built by a wealthy merchant family in the nineteenth century.
