Te mapa
Humacao lies on the eastern coast of Puerto Rico, a short distance inland from the Caribbean shore. Its historic centre follows the Spanish colonial pattern of a regular grid around a main plaza and church, and on a map this core appears as a compact square of streets. Around it, newer neighbourhoods, highways and commercial areas spread outward across the coastal plain.
Toward the sea the map becomes more varied. The Humacao Nature Reserve protects a system of lagoons and wetlands along the coast, drawn as a series of irregular pools and channels. To the south lies Palmas del Mar, a resort community with a marina and canals, while offshore Cayo Santiago has hosted a free-ranging colony of rhesus monkeys used for research since 1938.
A Humacao map poster shows a town that moves from ordered grid to watery coastline in a short distance. The plaza-centred streets anchor the composition, while the lagoons, marina and shoreline give it texture and movement. In black and white, the contrast between colonial geometry and natural coast becomes the defining feature of the design.

The Humacao Nature Reserve protects lagoons and wetlands near the shore, appearing as a cluster of irregular water bodies between the town and the sea.
The small island off the coast is home to a long-studied colony of rhesus monkeys and appears as a distinct shape in the sea on wider crops.

Koteā ko Humacao
Humacao means home to many Puerto Ricans on the island and in the diaspora, and a map of it keeps the plaza, the coast and the family street in view. The mix of grid and lagoons makes a balanced, interesting print.
Personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates with a family name, a barrio or a year, and choose Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand. The $9 download includes 300 DPI PNG and print-ready PDF files in six sizes.
