Te mapa
Inami is a town in the Kako district of Hyōgo, just inland from the Seto Inland Sea coast near Kakogawa. The land is gently rolling, and from above it looks like a patchwork. Rice paddies, clusters of houses and small woods alternate across the landscape. The roads wind between them rather than forming a single town grid.
The most distinctive feature of the Harima area is its irrigation reservoirs. Hundreds of small ponds were built over centuries to store water for the rice fields in a relatively dry climate. On a map of Inami they appear as scattered shapes of water across the farmland, some round, some angular, each with its own outline.
An Inami map poster is a study of rural Japanese land use: small settlements, careful field divisions and those scattered ponds, all drawn with the same fine line. It suits someone who grew up in the area, has family there, or likes maps that reward close looking more than any famous landmark.
Numerous reservoirs dot the land around Inami, a characteristic feature of the Harima plain. They give the map a rhythm of small water shapes against fine field lines.
Paddy fields divide the landscape into small, tightly fitted parcels. Printed in monochrome, they create a detailed texture that fills the spaces between villages.
Houses gather in small hamlets connected by narrow winding roads. There is no single dense centre, so the composition feels balanced and evenly spread.

Koteā ko Inami
Inami appeals to people who value understatement: a family home among the paddies, a childhood spent between the ponds. The map carries those memories in a calm, detailed image.
