Te mapa
Jaigaon lies in the Dooars region of northern West Bengal, where the plains of India meet the first Himalayan slopes. It sits directly on the border with Bhutan, facing the Bhutanese town of Phuentsholing. On a map the two settlements form one continuous built area, divided by an international line rather than by any natural feature.
The Indian side is compact and densely packed, with narrow streets crowded close to the boundary. The main crossing point, marked by a decorated gate on the Bhutanese side, is where much of the road traffic and trade between the two countries passes. To the north the terrain rises steeply, while to the south the land opens into the plains, tea gardens and river channels of the Dooars.
A Jaigaon map poster shows that sharp transition from flat to mountainous ground, and the unusual sight of a town whose edge is a national border. It is an unusual subject, and for people from the area or anyone who has crossed into Bhutan here, it captures a very particular kind of place: busy, compact and defined by its position.
The boundary with Bhutan runs along the northern edge of town, so Jaigaon and Phuentsholing appear as a single urban cluster split by an invisible line.
Immediately north, the ground rises into steep forested slopes, and the street network stops abruptly where the plains end and the mountains begin.
South of the town, the land flattens into farmland and tea estates crossed by braided river channels that flow down from the hills.

Koteā ko Jaigaon
Jaigaon means a great deal to those who live and trade here, and to travellers who remember it as the gateway to Bhutan. A clear map of its streets and the border beside them is a thoughtful way to mark that crossing.
The poster can carry a custom title, subtitle and coordinates line, perhaps naming both towns or a travel date. Select Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and get HD files or a matte print shipped from a local partner.
