Te mapa
Jincheng lies in the far south-east of Shanxi, near the border with Henan, in a basin surrounded by the folded hills of the Taihang range. On a map the city forms a fairly compact grid in the valley floor, with main roads stretching out to towns in the surrounding counties. Beyond the built area the land quickly rises into ridges and gullies, which give the edges of the map a rough, layered texture.
The region is one of China's main sources of anthracite coal, and mining has shaped the local economy for a long time. The prefecture also holds a notable collection of historic architecture, including old temples and fortified family compounds in its villages, the best known being Huangcheng Xiangfu, the residence of a Qing-dynasty chief minister, in Yangcheng county.
A Jincheng map poster shows a city that fits its basin neatly, with orderly streets in the centre and more irregular development toward the hills. The contrast between flat and folded land gives the composition depth even without shading. It is an understated map that rewards a closer look.
The central districts occupy the flat basin floor, where streets form a regular grid and the city's main avenues cross.
Ridges and gullies surround the basin. On the map they appear as open space broken by winding roads and small settlements.
Highways lead out of the basin toward neighbouring counties and Henan, drawing long lines through the surrounding hills.

Koteā ko Jincheng
Jincheng is a map for people from south-eastern Shanxi and their families, a quiet portrait of a place defined by mountains and hard work. The compact shape makes it a clean, graphic print.
Add a title, a subtitle with a date or family name, and the coordinates line, then pick from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Noir gives the basin a strong, deep contrast.
