Jintūr is a town in Parbhani district, in the Marathwada region of Maharashtra. It lies on the Deccan plateau, in open agricultural country with low hills nearby. The town serves as a local centre for surrounding villages, and roads spread out from it in several directions across the fields.
Its street plan is compact and irregular, typical of Deccan market towns that grew slowly around an older core. Lanes run between dense blocks, and wider roads carry traffic in and out. The area is also known for Jain religious sites in the nearby hills, which attract pilgrims from the wider region.
