Te mapa
João Pinheiro sits in the northwest of Minas Gerais, in a landscape of open cerrado, low plateaus and wide farmland. From above, the town is a tight cluster of rectangular blocks, and around it the municipality stretches very far. It is often described as the largest municipality in the state by area, so the town looks small against the space around it.
The town takes its name from João Pinheiro da Silva, a politician who governed Minas Gerais in the early republican period. On a map the urban area reads clearly: a regular pattern of streets, a few longer avenues crossing it, and the straight line of a federal highway passing close by. Beyond the last blocks, unpaved rural roads branch out toward farms and river valleys.
A João Pinheiro map poster shows that contrast between a dense core and sparse surroundings. The printed lines gather into a neat grid at the centre, then thin into scattered threads toward the edges. In black and white, the result is quiet and orderly, a portrait of an interior Brazilian town shaped by distance, agriculture and the roads that connect it to the rest of the country.
The centre is laid out in rectangular blocks of similar size, giving the poster a calm, even texture that stands out clearly against the open land around it.
A long federal highway runs past the town in a nearly straight line, one of the strongest single strokes on the map and the main link to larger cities.
Outside the urban area, thin rural roads fan out across the cerrado, drawing loose, irregular lines toward farms, streams and neighbouring districts.
