Te mapa
Kepong is a suburb in the northwest of Kuala Lumpur, on the edge of the city where it meets Selangor. On a map it is a dense mix of housing estates, shophouse rows and main roads, laid out in overlapping patterns from different decades of development. Its most striking feature is the large green area of the Forest Research Institute Malaysia, a nearly empty block among the streets.
Kepong grew from a small settlement surrounded by tin mines and rubber estates into a large residential district. Neighbourhoods such as Kepong Baru and Taman Kepong form tight grids of terraced houses. Major roads, including the Middle Ring Road 2, and suburban rail lines cut through the area and draw strong lines between the estates.
FRIM was established in the late 1920s on land once used for mining and farming, and it is now a regenerated tropical forest with trails and a canopy walkway. Nearby, Kepong Metropolitan Park adds a lake and open lawns. A Kepong map poster brings these contrasts together: tightly packed housing, busy corridors and wide pockets of green.
The Forest Research Institute's large reforested estate appears as a broad open area with only a few winding paths. It balances the dense housing around it.
Rows of terraced houses in neighbourhoods such as Kepong Baru form fine parallel lines, a repeating texture that looks especially crisp in black and white.
The Middle Ring Road 2 and the rail lines slice through the suburb. They divide the map into clear sections and link Kepong to the rest of Kuala Lumpur.

Koteā ko Kepong
Many Kuala Lumpur families have lived in Kepong for generations, and others settled there when they first moved to the city. A map of the neighbourhood, with its estates and its forest, is a warm and specific reminder of home for a flat or an office.
Add a title, a subtitle such as the name of your taman or a year, and the coordinates line. Choose among Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Noir turns the forest and park into deep, quiet shapes.
