Te mapa
Kermanshah sits in a broad valley in the Zagros Mountains of western Iran, and its outline follows the shape of that valley. The city is long and relatively narrow, stretching east to west, with high ridges rising to the north. The Qarasu River passes along the northern side, and main roads run the full length of the city.
At the northeastern edge, the rock reliefs of Taq-e Bostan are cut into the cliff face above a spring-fed pool. They date from the Sasanian period and are among the best-known carvings of that era. About thirty kilometres to the east, the Bisotun inscription, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, marks the old road that linked Mesopotamia with the Iranian plateau.
The older centre has a closer, irregular street pattern, while newer districts are laid out in a more regular way on the valley floor. Kermanshah has a large Kurdish population and a long history as a stop on the road west. A Kermanshah map poster brings together the valley shape, the river and the mountains that frame it.

Sasanian rock carvings at the foot of the mountain on the city's northeastern edge, next to a pool and park that appear as open space on the map.
The river runs along the northern side of the city, a soft line between the built-up districts and the rising ground beyond.

Koteā ko Kermanshah
Kermanshah is a city people carry with them, whether they left for Tehran or for abroad. Its long valley shape is easy to recognise, and a map on the wall keeps that sense of place close.
You can add a title, a subtitle such as a family name or a year, and a coordinates line. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint or Sand, and order a digital file or a printed poster with an optional wooden frame.
