Kilkis is the capital of the regional unit of the same name in Central Macedonia, northern Greece, north of Thessaloniki and not far from the border with North Macedonia. The town spreads across the slopes of a hill crowned by the church of Agios Georgios, and from above the streets can be seen bending around the higher ground before straightening out on the flatter land below.
The town gave its name to the Battle of Kilkis–Lachanas in 1913, fought during the Second Balkan War, which remains an important date in Greek history. The hill also contains a cave that is open to visitors, one of the town's best-known sights.
A Kilkís map poster captures a town shaped by one hill. Curving streets on the upper slopes and a more regular grid across the plain give the print two distinct textures, a contrast that anyone who knows the town will recognise straight away.
The hill at the town's edge, topped by a church and holding a well-known cave, is the high point that the surrounding streets curve around.
On the lower ground the streets become more regular, forming blocks that spread toward the open farmland of Central Macedonia.
Main roads leave the town southward toward Thessaloniki and northward toward the border, extending clean lines across the surrounding plain.

Koteā ko Kilkís
Kilkis is a town with deep family roots and a strong sense of its own history. A map of its streets is a meaningful gift for anyone who grew up here, has moved to Thessaloniki or abroad, or wants to mark a family story tied to the region.
You can personalise the title, subtitle and coordinates, perhaps with the Greek spelling Κιλκίς or a meaningful date. Choose from Classic black & white, Noir, Paper, Blueprint and Sand. Classic black & white suits the hillside streets especially well.
