Te mapa
Klaukkala is the largest village in the municipality of Nurmijärvi, north-west of Helsinki. From above, it is a Finnish settlement of a typical kind. Curving residential streets and cul-de-sacs sit in a landscape of forest, open fields and small bodies of water. The centre is compact, and the neighbourhoods reach out along the main roads before giving way to trees.
Klaukkala has grown rapidly as a commuter community for the Helsinki region, and most of its streets are relatively recent. The map shows this in the smooth, looping layouts of family-house areas and the clear boundaries between built-up land and woodland. Nurmijärvi is known as the birthplace of Aleksis Kivi, the author of the first major novel in Finnish.
A Klaukkala map poster shows how closely everyday life in Finland connects with nature. There are dense clusters of homes, a few straight main roads and wide spaces of forest and field in between. The result is calm and balanced, with a soft, organic rhythm that feels very different from the grid of a larger city.
Klaukkala’s neighbourhoods are organised in curving streets and cul-de-sacs. They make rounded, repeating shapes across the map.
Woodland and farmland surround the village on every side. Large open areas separate the built-up districts from one another.
Main roads link Klaukkala to Helsinki and the rest of Nurmijärvi. They form the strongest straight lines crossing the composition.

Koteā ko Klaukkala
Many families moved to Klaukkala for space, forest and a quieter pace. A map of the village marks that decision and the home that came with it. It suits Nordic interiors especially well.
