Te mapa
Koovappady lies in the eastern part of Ernakulam district, just north of Perumbavoor, in the belt of country where the Kerala plain begins to rise toward the Western Ghats. There is no dense town centre here. Instead, the map shows a loose settlement pattern of houses and small junctions spread across gently rolling land, with plantations and fields filling the space between roads.
The Periyar, Kerala's longest river, runs through this part of the district, and its course is the most distinctive natural line in the area. Around it, roads link Koovappady with Perumbavoor, Kalady and the settlements further east. Much of the land is given over to rubber and coconut, which on a map appears as open ground rather than streets, with homes clustered along the roads.
A Koovappady map poster is quieter than a city plan. The lines are sparse, the curves follow terrain rather than design, and the river adds a single broad stroke. In the Paper or Sand style it has an almost botanical feel, while Classic black and white keeps the road network crisp and easy to read.
Kerala's longest river passes through the area in broad bends, the one wide, continuous shape on a map otherwise made of narrow roads and scattered buildings.
The main roads run south to Perumbavoor and west toward Kalady, forming the backbone of the network, with smaller lanes branching off toward houses and plantations.
Rubber and coconut holdings cover much of the ground, so large areas appear open, and the settlement pattern follows the roads rather than filling blocks.

Koteā ko Koovappady
For anyone who grew up in Koovappady, the map is a record of routes travelled every day: to school, to church or temple, to the market in Perumbavoor. It turns a place that rarely appears on printed maps into something worth framing.
You choose the title and subtitle, can add a meaningful date, and keep or edit the coordinates line. Buy the $9 digital pack with six sizes, or order a printed poster on matte paper, framed or unframed, from a print partner near you.
