Te mapa
Kuşadası lies on Turkey's Aegean coast in Aydın province, facing the Greek island of Samos across the water. The town follows the curve of a wide bay, and hillsides dotted with houses and holiday apartments rise behind the shore.
The most distinctive feature on the map is Güvercinada, or Pigeon Island, a small rocky islet with a medieval fortress. A narrow causeway links it to the mainland, and on paper it looks like a small, deliberate full stop at the edge of the harbour. Nearby, the cruise port stretches its piers out into the bay.
Behind the waterfront, the old quarter and the Ottoman caravanserai sit among denser streets. Farther along the coast, the town stretches out into resort districts and beaches. Many visitors come for the ancient city of Ephesus, a short drive inland. A Kuşadası map poster frames the whole bay: harbour, island and coast in one line drawing.

Long piers reach out into the bay near the centre. Their straight lines contrast with the natural curve of the coastline.
The shore curves around a wide bay, and the streets follow it before climbing the hills behind. This gives the whole town a crescent shape.
